The Stetson Kennedy Songwriter Residency is a partnership with the Stetson Kennedy Foundation, St. Johns County Parks and Recreation Department, and Jacksonville Songwriters Residency. This historic songwriter residency program takes place at Beluthahatchee Park. Songwriters will experience Beluthahatchee for 1-2 weeks. We accept residencies four times a year for professional songwriters with ties to environmental, civil rights and/or activist topics. We accept artists from anywhere in the world.
Come spend up to two weeks in the same place that inspired Woody Guthrie and Stetson Kennedy, Beluthahatchee Park! If accepted, you will perform in front of a live audience in St. Johns County during your stay. Professional songwriters who would like to apply for the Songwriter Residency Program can view qualifications and apply at JacksonvilleSongwriter.org
This place is magical! If you’re open to it and aware of it, you can tap into that energy and you can feel it.Brad Lauretti, Songwriter
I needed a jump start for my songwriting because I’ve been in a hiatus with my band in the last couple of years. This residency was a good way for me to sit down and put my nose to the grindstone again. Marcellus Hall, Songwriter NYC
