STK Foundation Updates
I Meeting with Wil Smith. Since the Tree Fund money will not be used for the Guana property, Wil will start the process of the County Commission approval its use for Derek's property. The County is not quite as constrained by appraisal value as it would be with Florida Forever, which will only fund already approved projects this year.
II Florida Folk Festival. Keith, Karen and I managed the exhibit, got a few names, only about $30 in donations, gave the awards to Fellow Man and Mother Earth awards to Shorty Robbins, Peggy Bulger, and Tina Bucuvalas. Not worth doing unless we have something to sell- note paper, photographs, t-shirts.
Sandra Parks-Kennedy talked to Arlo; unlikely that he can do a concert for us during Woody's centennial year because of the crowded schedule, but wants to if possible. County events will manage the concert either at the Amphitheater or the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall. SKF gets a portion of each ticket and can have table.
III Florida Historical Society. Gave Stetson Kennedy award and received one for him for Florida Slave. Jon Bosworth won the student writing award for his article on Stetson. SKF had table.
IV Donation of Wood Floors. The original vinyl flooring downstairs has become split, discolored, and damaged. Leaks have weakened the flooring underneath. We have approached contractor John Valdes about enough hardwood to cover the downstairs. County will lay the flooring
V Jon Bosworth has completed the three legal applications the Department of Agriculture Charitable Organization report, and the IRS 990. The registration with the Division of Corporations is prepared, but cannot be filed until the board list is firm.
